Ingredients
  

  • 8 steamed buns , depending on the size of your serving plate.
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk , for serving
  • 4 cup vegetable oil , or more as needed

Instructions
 

  • ·  Prepare the buns: Start by dividing your buns into two groups—one for steaming and the other for deep-frying.
  • ·  Steam the first groupSteam one group of buns until they’re hot and soft, setting the stage for a tender contrast with the fried version.
  • ·  Fry the second group: In a pot, heat up enough oil for about 7 minutes over medium heat. When the oil is medium hot, add the buns in batches to fry until they turn golden brown. Press them down gently as they float on the surface to ensure they cook evenly during the deep-frying process.
  • ·  Transfer and filter: Once the buns are perfectly fried, transfer them out of the oil and carefully filter any extra oil to avoid a greasy texture.
  • ·  Set up the serving plate: Pour some condensed milk into a small bowl and place it in the center of your serving plate. Arrange the steamed buns and fried buns around the dipping bowl.
  • ·  Serve hot: Make sure to serve hot so that the steamed buns remain soft and the fried buns retain their crispiness. Enjoy the delightful combination of textures when dipped into the sweet condensed milk.
